Most of the Australians prefer dwelling which has caused them to own a home of their own. There are a few rental cases existing in the country as well. The residential market of Australia has started falling which resulted in less demand for home loans.

The increasing prices of land along with maintenance cost have created a situation where in getting a house has become unaffordable in Australia. Interest rates have been increasing affecting the first time home buyers. When the families required a major portion of their income to pay their home loans and income was not in pace with interest rates, their interest in dwelling declined.
